The earrings are classically shaped like a sea urchin, but with the exceptionally rare surface that characterizes the tortoise shell. They are smooth to the touch in their slightly knurled symmetrical pattern, with the small elevations becoming increasingly smaller as the pattern moves closer to the center of the sea urchin, bringing the piece together in a small fine white topaz.
